Education Surveillance Program

At Toshiba we understand the needs of educational institutions. School violence, vandalism and burglary are on the rise while budgets are shrinking. At the same time, we realize institutions need a better solution than just installing a few security cameras and a recorder and moving on. Toshiba Surveillance offers educational institutions far more than just special pricing.

Toshiba’s Educational Institution Surveillance Program offers a complete surveillance solution including long term benefits aimed at providing on-going support and controlling total cost of ownership (TCO). The program includes on-going alerting, systems reporting and Toshiba engineer support, without on-going costs.

Education Surveillance Program

  • Commissioning Service: After an authorized Toshiba Security Partner has installed a Toshiba surveillance system, a Toshiba Technical Specialist will contact the school in order to set up a time to visit. The technician will assist the school and Toshiba Security Partner in optimizing the installed solution.
  • Monthly Follow-up For One Year: For a period of 1-year after the completion of the commissioning, a Toshiba Technical Specialist will contact the school monthly to insure the system is running smoothly and trouble-free.
  • No Annual Software Fees: Software updates and upgrades are provided at no charge for the life of your system, not just the warranty period to keep total cost of ownership (TCO) low.
  • On-going Health Monitoring: This cloud-based service manages the health of the surveillance system. Simple to use, it provides easy-to-understand visual confirmation that recorders and cameras are working properly. An alert will be sent if problems exist so they can be addressed before a critical video event occurs.
  • Pricing And Discounts: Toshiba offers discounted pricing to academic institutions on its video surveillance equipment. In addition to this, there are also potential discounts from other divisions of Toshiba including, but not limited to, digital display, notebook computers, copiers and telephone systems.
  • Mapping: Setup within SCS (the included Toshiba VMS), the Toshiba Mapping application will be customized to the school's needs. Covering multiple geographic locations from campuses spread across multiple states to a single district or campus, camera icons are placed on customized maps, satellite images and/or floor plans to provide quick drill down to exactly the location needed.
  • MAC Support: Toshiba supports MAC users with a remote MAC client for live view and search as well as an iOS app.
  • Flexibility: Because Toshiba has a complete product line, including analog, IP and hybrid products, it can meet virtually any institution's needs, whether for a brand new IP-based system or the migration to IP from a legacy analog system all at once or over time.
