| IRVINE, CA, November 1, 2006 -- Toshiba Surveillance & IP Video Products Group, a business unit of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced a major new release of its Network Video Recording Server software (NVR) featuring enhanced support for up to 16 IP-based cameras and additional capabilities designed to foster greater control over the deployment and management of mission-critical IP-based video surveillance applications utilizing Windows XP® or Windows Server 2003®.
Toshiba NVR software has been designed for use on non-proprietary hardware and IT infrastructure, making it a cost effective next generation surveillance package. It allows users to view, record and playback up to 16 local or remote IP network cameras simultaneously per server. Plus, it seamlessly integrates with existing digital video recorders, PTZ controls and video-based motion detection devices.
"As a market leader in the IP network video, Toshiba is committed to providing software solutions that allow customers to extend the potential of today's most advanced IP-based cameras and recording solutions," said Sergio Collazo, Director, Toshiba Surveillance and IP Video Products Group. "Our new generation of NVR software is feature-rich and highly scalable for reliable IP camera recording and management in any application."
NVR provides a complete IP based environment. It records image resolutions as high as the IP camera supports, including the newest models from Toshiba, Sony, Panasonic, AXIS and Lumenera, while providing a straightforward migration path for Toshiba DVR, EVR, HVR and NVR recording systems.
A key benefit of IP-based surveillance video systems is that they provide remote access to cameras from virtually any Internet-ready device. NVR software enhances this experience with complete remote management of user administration and set-up controls from simple intuitive menus, along with remote video backup, viewing of live and archived video, and unprecedented video search capabilities.
Additional capabilities include multiple levels of security access, advanced POS and ATM support, and digital signature support for tamper-proof video and JPG exporting.
