New Version 3 Surveillix® Server Software Adds Capabilities To Toshiba Digital Video Recorders
IRVINE, CA, April 27, 2007-- Toshiba Surveillance & IP Video Products Group, a business unit of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., announced today the release of Version 3 Surveillix® server software, a major upgrade that brings added security solutions to its enterprise-class Surveillix Digital Video Recorders and Network Video Recorders.

Leveraging the built-in capabilities of the Toshiba DVR, EVR, HVR, XVR and IPR models, Version 3 software helps security professionals achieve higher levels of system effectiveness. The added features are:

  • E-mail On Alarm: Version 3 alerts users by e-mail the moment an alarm is triggered, plus it allows administrators to add multiple users to receive specific alerts for HDD check alarms, recording data alarms or event alarms.
  • Multiple IP Camera Support : Version 3 will support all Toshiba network cameras, along with those from Sony® and Arecont Vision®. In addition, the software is compatible with new Covi® high-definition surveillance cameras feature MultiViewT.
  • Output To An Alarm: When a motion event occurs, Version 3 permits output to an alarm. The output is customizable with the ability to assign alarm output to any single camera channel.
  • Search In Live: Simply by pressing down their mouse wheel, users can now search through recorded video from a single channel while watching the remaining channels in live mode.
  • Updated IK-WB Protocol: A newly updated protocol allows image flip, presets and preset tour of Toshiba IK-WB series cameras.
  • Advanced Video Clip Backup: Selectable camera proprietary backup lets users select multiple cameras and back up video.
  • Multiple Codecs: Video and still images can now by exported in multiple types of codecs, including non-compressed video and JPG, PNG and BMP for stills.

In addition, Version 3 is now integrated with the Toshiba Camera FInder application. Camera Finder is designed to search a LAN for network-based cameras, and list the camera's name, IP address and port, while also providing remote configuration.
